ABOUT USSeaWorld's Discovery Point is a tucked-away oasis within SeaWorld San Antonio. Here, an expansive Dolphin Lagoon is home to a playful pod of bottlenose dolphins. Watch them from its sand-swept shores, or go deeper with our Dolphin Underwater Viewing. You'll also find Explorer's Reef, home to several species of sharks, many of which are endangered, along with exotic fish and a living coral reef. Nose to Bottle nose. There’s just something about dolphins that makes people smile, and long to spend time in their company. Dolphin Lagoon’s Texas-sized 600,000-gallon habitat was created with that very idea in mind. After all, our dolphins make us smile big, too.
Here along the shores of our naturalistic lagoon, let time slip away watching dolphins interact and play. Enjoy the view with any SeaWorld admission. A portion of this expansive habitat is reserved to allow our Signature Swim participants to wade into the water along the shallows of the lagoon and feel the exhilaration of swimming with dolphins. |
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
MY TIME AT DISCOVERY POINT
At the start of my season here I was just an ambassador getting $8.40 an hour working 40 hours a week 5 days a week. As the season went on I applied to be an assistant supervisor which would mean my pay would be $10.51 an hour, and I would have to work extra long hours throughout the summer and sometimes not have days off but that was okay because I was getting experience as a leader. I don't feel like my job is an actual job, it is a second family May 21st 2017 we celebrated our 1st birthday and it was really neat to experience everyone's emotions. DP (discovery point) is our baby, most of us have been with DP since day one. I have been lucky enough to expand my network and have even swapped numbers and emails with our park president. I have been lucky enough to play with these silly dolphins all summer and even get into the water with our beluga whales. I struggled with social anxiety and this summer I have broken through it and conquered it. I love my DP family and the regular guests that we have.
